Sugar Cookies- Christmas Baking Activity #2

We had some friends over this morning, so I thought making sugar cookies would be a good way to help them use their endless energy.  Only partly--I didn't make the dough ahead of time to have sufficient time for it to cool in the fridge to be good for cutting out shapes.  So they probably ate more of the dough than anything!  Still, it was fun.

Christmas baking activity #1

The kids made their first Christmas cookies of the season--giant gingerbread cookies! Jon's aunt had given them the pan--and I tried to tell Sean it would be best to do sugar cookies in it. But since one of the shapes was a gingerbread man and he had recently read the book, he had his heart set on making them. They didnt turn out tasting so great since they had to cook so long since they were so large, but the kids didnt mind. But i dont know what was I thinking making some red icing to let them frost them and add red and green sprinkles! They made an absolute mess! (But that's when they have the most fun, huh?)
Not sure how these pics will look in this post since this is my first post done completely via my phone! Will edit if they look funny on the computer. Look for our next baking adventure soon!

Hardison Lineage

Jon and I have been working on entering information into ancestry.com which we have gathered from family members before doing their "14 day free trial" to try to fill in the holes with as little work as possible so we hopefully won't have to do a subscription (or maybe just a month if we need to!)

Things that make me smile

I love how the kids play with the Little People Nativity set--they love arranging the animals and figures.   They usually have a few additions, however.  Today, apparently the nativity scene was not complete without a big digger and a large princess shoe!
