Homeschooling

We've decided to begin the journey of homeschooling next year.

Our oldest will be in 3rd grade and little mommy will be in 1st.  They both attended public school until this year, so I know there will be a period of adjustment for that.  We are signing up the kids for an organized PE class that meets once a week and they will also continue their extra-curricular activities, so we are confident they will still get plenty of time with peers of their own age.

I'm currently doing a lot of research and trying to connect with other homeschool families to get ideas on their schedules/curricula, etc.  I'm trusting God will teach me more through this process than he will the children!  I believe it will teach me more patience and diligence with my children.

Here is a peek at our homeschool room:

The refrigerator in what we lovingly call the "second kitchen" will serve as our calendar area.  The cabinets in this kitchen also house all their craft supplies, play-doh, stamps, games, puzzles, and a few random actual kitchen appliances that don't fit in the main kitchen.  Our house is the perfect homeschool house for our family.
The mother in law suite living area is our playroom which is where Turbo will mostly hang out *hopefully*.  I'm planning to create bins for him to play with that will only be available to him during school time.  I have heard this is best for the toddler age crowd.
