Long day today with Blue & Gold activities at school. The K time didn't start until 8:15 so me and the 3 youngers went to Squirrel Lake park to play (and use the bathroom!) and I also fed Luke his breakfast there. We got to school and it was cold and windy and on the verge of sprinkling. Thankfully it never did and the kids had fun playing games!
Jack and Brilee were able to join in on the first few stations that only required throwing balls around and the parachtue.
The remaining stations were all relay races and I told Brilee & Jack they couldn't do these. Which sent both of them into tears. So we stayed for this one relay to take pictures of Lilly and say good bye.
Jack cried for "sissy!!" the whole way to the parking lot and to Target where we went for another bathroom break. Then we tried to go to the homeschool room until time to go back for Lilly's class picnic, but, of course, Jack pitched a fit inside there too. I thought I could look for one book in particular while they played at the lego table, but he decided he would rather throw them and run around the store and have a pooopy diaper in the process. So we left there frustrated with no books in hand. Someone tell me now that I will be ok next year with all 5 of them in stores with me.....
So, by the time we got back to school it was somehow already 11 and we ate our lunch with Lilly on a picnic blanket outside. She decided she'd like to go watch the rest of Sean's activities with us so I checked her out from her teacher after lunch to go with us to watch him. Took us awhile to find his class (because his teacher had left and there was a substitute for the rest of the day and I was trying to spot her). He was excited we finally found him.
Jack was so ready to get out of the stroller to play. Thankfully we had only made it back for the last 2 rotations so he didn't have long to wait.
After the activities were over we headed to Sean's classroom to eat lunch and Lilly disappeared from the classroom. I guess she thought they were going outside for a picnic like her class had done and she started walking down the hallway. By the time I found her she was crying because she didn't know where we had gone. Poor thing.
Then the ice cream truck came for their grade and I paid the teacher $3 extra for our other kids including Lilly because her class' time wasn't until almost 2 when we'd be long gone. So, we got in the van mostly sticky but happy from the huge popsicles they had all picked out (no pictures of that!)
Came home and got a text from a friend who had seen us from a distance and taken this picture. The entourage- 4 of the 5--I had just checked Lilly out from her class and we were walking around looking for Sean's class.
