I've been working the past few weeks on rearranging our school room and the kids' rooms. We moved out the majority of the kids' toys from the school area and found room for everything in their bedrooms. This makes for a much more conducive learning environment!

We are trying to sell the lateral file cabinet in the above picture along with the Sony receiver sitting on top of it. Let me know if you're interested :) We found a wall mount for the tv on Craigslist, and I find it much nicer up out of the way! (Plus, Brilee can't change the channel or mess with the volume up there!)
Our computer (and desk junk!) is hidden away in the computer armoire. I'm thinking about getting rid of this plastic desk we got for Sean when he was two. Lilly especially loves to sit there and color, but it's just so big and in the way.
This also doubles as our guest bedroom. We pushed the bed all the way up against the wall and I plan to use it as a "reading area." When visitors come, we can pull it back away from the wall so there is room to walk around to the other side. Jon has visions of making a Murphy bed for this area sometime in the future, but for right now, we're leaving it as is. (A murphy bed is one that folds up into a wall unit out of the way)
Since we moved Lilly into Brilee's room, I moved the rocking chair in here for the reading area and for a small play area for Brilee and Lilly when I'm working with Sean. His Thomas the Train stuff are in those three bins--the only non-baby toys I left in here. There just isn't room in Sean's room to build a track as big as he likes to make it, so we left it in here where there is plenty of floor space. The basket is full of toys for Brilee, and she loves to ride the truck that was Sean's when he was her age.
My favorite area of the room--the gated treadmill! :) The gate can come off of the brackets and fold up out of the way when I'm not using it...but I leave it up because I try to run on it on days that I don't make it to the YMCA. The kids play or watch tv great while I run 2.5 to 3 miles in 30 min. I can safely say I think I'm addicted to running now...something I would have laughed at a few years ago!
View from the door
View from the guest bed. I love how this room is bright and sunny...also another great trait for a good learning environment! Sean has been begging everyday to do his schoolwork. I love how he has a strong desire to learn, and I'm thankful for this opportunity to teach him!
Looks great Amber!!
