Busy, Busy Weekend!

We have had an incredibly busy weekend!  We never seem to have enough time on the weekends while Jon is home to do everything we want/plan to do!  I wish I had more pictures from the weekend, but we were too busy to stop to take pictures!  There are only two of Brilee in her church outfit at the bottom of this post--scroll down to see her, she's a cutie!

On Friday, Sean had his last swim lesson of this first session he's attended the past two weeks.  Jon left work early in order to see him swim (he had taken a half day on Thursday, which was supposed to be the last swim lesson, but they had to close the pool due to thunder--even though it's an indoor pool).  We had planned on going swimming together as a family after his lessons, but unfortunately the childcare is closed on Friday after 1pm, so we had no where to leave Brilee, so we didn't stay afterwards!  However, it was still an eventful lesson.  We got moved outside after 10 min of his lesson because another child (not in his class) either threw up on went potty in the pool--still not sure which one!  Thankfully they were able to move us outside into a lane and Jon shot some great video of Sean swimming.  I'll have to upload that later!

Since Lilly did not want to sit still and we had our swimsuits on anyway (from planning to go afterwards) I took her in the pool while Jon kept Brilee in the carseat by the chairs.  Lilly was her typical almost 2 year old self saying "No" to everything.  She was whining and holding on to me so tight in the water, so I asked her, "Do you want to get out?"  Lilly- "No"  (you have to imagine this in the cutest little toddler voice that is hard to resist laughing at).  Me:  "Do you want to stay in?"  Lilly- "No"  Me-  "Well, which is it?  Do you want to get out?"  Lilly- "No"  Me- "Do you want to stay in?"  LIlly- "No".  It was quite hilarious, so I asked her a few more times just for the fun of it, but stayed in with her clinging to my neck until Sean's swim lesson was over.  I think deep inside she really enjoyed being in the water, but her little two year old attitude didnt' want to let on that she had fun!

After Sean's swim lesson, we came home and had a wonderful meal that someone from church had brought us--score for mommy not having to cook!  We let the kids play and wear themselves out until it was bedtime.  Then, Jon started working on his current project out in the garage again--making a vibrator table for someone at church--it's huge and he's out there welding on it with his large tanks of gas looking all professional and everything :)  I love how he can do almost anything imaginable!

On Saturday, we had the usual tasks to complete, which took up the first half of the day.  I took the girls with me to Target and to Harris Teeter while Jon and Sean did yard work and worked in the garage.  Sean had dirt smeared all over his face and he looked so happy to be so dirty!  I told Jon that our new "zone defense" that everyone talks about with 3+ kids is working more in his favor!  It usually ends up that I have the girls and he is still on "one on one defense"!  No fair!  Maybe #4 (in a few more years!) will even things out a bit!

After the kids' naps we got ready to head out to a Charlotte Knights baseball game.  Jon's company gave free tickets to anyone who wanted them (since they are a sponsor of the Knights) and Saturday was their "employee night" to have everyone come.  Jon got 5 tickets--which earlier I had asked him why he got 5 since Brilee won't need a seat, but I'm SO GLAD he did!  Even though I had her in the baby carrier, we also took the car seat, and it was nice to have it there to put her in so I could help Lilly eat her food and Jon helped Sean with his food.  That was a chore in and of itself.  Jon and Sean went to get the food while I stayed back and had to hold on to the handle of Lilly's "monkey harness" as I call it that keeps her from running away from me.  (Again--notice the uneven zone defense?  j/k--it would have been impossible for him to take Lilly and carry all the food too).  We spend a good part of the time keeping them from spilling drink all over themselves, and keeping Lilly from poking the Piggly Wiggly logo on the girl's t-shirt in front of us!

Brilee started waiting in her carseat so I put her back in the carrier, and that kept her calm for a bit.  Both Jon and I tried to explain the baseball game to Sean, but he didn't care one bit about what was going on.  He too wanted to get in and out of his chair and try to bother the people around us.  So, he and Jon went to get ice cream in a baseball cap (Jon had gotten $75 in concession cash from his work too, so that was great!)

After we ate the ice cream, the kids were getting really cranky, and Brilee was fussing again, so we decided to leave even though it was only at the bottom of the 2nd inning!  It was 8:20 and the game had started at 7:00--that was a LONG 2 innings!

So, we got home about 9:00 and the kids crashed, I fed Brilee, and thankfully she slept until 5:20!  I'm so glad that she has started taking longer stretches at night the past 3 nights.  Hoping this trend continues so I can get some of my sanity back!

Sunday, we had church, which is always nice, but rushed at the same time.  It is quite difficult to get 3 kids out the door without a lot of running around senseless, but we enjoy it none the less!  After the kids' naps in the afternoon, we decided to venture to the water park at the YMCA.  We dropped Brilee off with Jon's parents (they love having some time alone with just her since Sean & Lilly usually want to occupy all their attention!).  The waterpark was tons of fun and Sean and Lilly both enjoyed playing in their wade pool.  They have a playground type area in the middle with water spraying everywhere, and I loved being in the pool too with them!  I sat down near the edge and Lilly stayed with me mostly until she got braver and ventured away (with her swim floaties though!)  We stayed until about 4:30, then headed to get Brilee.

We had been home less than 10 minutes, when my parents arrived to spend the week with us.  Sean enjoyed showing off for them and rode his bike up and down our end of the road 3 times.  He has really gotten the hang of going uphill now, which is great because he used to just cry and cry when he got to a hill and Jon always had to push him.  SO glad he's getting the hang of it, but that means he's still growing up, which is also sad!

I had taken some pictures of Brilee after church today in a special outfit that Jon's cousin, Lynn, gave her at my "Welcome Brilee" baby shower this week.  I felt so blessed to have the ladies come out and celebrate with us, and had a wonderful time of fellowship.  Below are a few of those pictures from today:

Now, a new week starts--time to have fun with Granddaddy and Grandma Hardison!  They love the grandkids!
