Waxhaw Christmas Lights/Brownie Decorating Party/Day of the Dozens

What a great little city we live in!  It was a beautiful day with gorgeous weather, so we took advantage to take an evening stroll through downtown Waxhaw to view all the lights and decorations.  They offered free carriage rides, but we opted to just walk through the city.  The above picture is the view from the top of the train bridge.  My Google photos created a nice panoramic picture from 3 pictures I took from atop the bridge.

This was at the start of our stroll when the kids all ran to the top of the bridge.  Jon told me the pics wouldn't turn out that great, but enough to enjoy the memory :)

Guess which kid wasn't thrilled to stop for a picture?

Waxhaw park was decorated with gorgeous lights across the walkway and red and green spotlights.  The kids went running off to the swings and I had a nice image of Jon and I getting to sit on a bench and talk while they played...
Except a man and his dog were also there while his kid was playing and he started quite chatty with Jon.  I tried to stop the chatter with a picture, but he continued right on telling him about his dentist appointment that morning and everywhere he knew from growing up in Waxhaw.  Oh well
It was a nice try at some romantic time after we finally got away to the swings.  Except then a kid needed to use the potty and they were locked...so we headed back to the van.

And thankfully found a (surprisingly clean) porta potty at the bottom of the train bridge and let her go there so we could continue on our way to drive through some nearby neighborhoods.  The great first of a family tradition here in Waxhaw!

Last night we had friends over to decorate Christmas Tree brownies--it was a super fun party!

 Pre-decorated trees...
 Just because...

 Elliot's Tree
I thought I had taken a picture of her decorating it, but my phone has been acting wonky turning on and off randomly, and whenever it does that right after I take a pic, that one doesn't get saved to my photos :(

Brilee with her mound of icing.

Luke and Iliana making mischief with Julia's wallet...which accidentally was left behind when they wouldn't stop pulling it out of her purse!  Oops...

They wish they could have an actual conversation.  I wish I knew what they would say...

Oh, and a few shots of doughnuts from this morning.  Jon took them to get Krispy Kreme for "Day of the Dozens"  12/12...
Jon read some article just this morning of oversensitive (to put it politely) individuals who were outraged by Starbuck's polar bear cookies with a red scarf around their neck.  Saying, "why would Starbucks support the killing of polar bears?"  ugh.   They might as well be just as upset at Krispy Kreme for supporting the killing of innocent snowmen....It's a scarf people!
And I guess Santa lost his head too
