First we enjoyed seeing the animals in the barn:
Then we decided to take pictures with the painted pilgrims and turkey:
Lilly managed to stand on her tip toes long enough for me to get a decent pic!
They enjoyed sitting in the big tractor:
We took a wagon ride over to the pumpkin patch, which ended up being a private ride all by ourselves since the school groups needed a whole wagon to themselves. They first told us they were going to ride us over there on the golf cart, but I told them (as politely as possible) that our kids wanted to enjoy a wagon ride and we expected that to be part of the price of admission (thankfully we didn't have to pay $5 for Lilly too since she won't turn 2 until November!) So we enjoyed a great wagon ride pulled by a tractor in the most beautiful weather we've had here probably all summer (only now it's fall!)
The kids picked out their pumpkins (not great pictures since the sun was in their eyes!)
The view of the large slides and picnic area:
A large group of kids had cleared out of one of the picnic areas by the time we came back over on the wagon. Perfect timing!
Sean called this the "farm airplane." I tried to tell him it was some kind of combine, but he insisted it could fly...
Brilee slept most of the time...this is right after she woke up telling me she was hungry :)
Oh, the slide incident...the most unpleasant part of the day...let me explain.
Then I let Sean try to go down the large slide, but he got terribly frightened because the group of school kids were pushing and shoving each other at the top so much so that they were packed in like sardines. He managed to get down once, and STILL wanted to try again, but the kids were even older coming up this time, and he was just standing up there smashed against the wall crying (while that classes' teachers were chatting off to the side not paying attention to what was happening) and I had to go up there and get him. He was more frightened of walking back down the ramp going up to the slide, and I practically had to pick him up to get him past the kids that would not let us back down. I asked several of them, "please, can we get past, he is scared and needs to go back down this way." They didn't say anything and kept shoving past us. I wish I had gone back to talk to the teachers, but I didn't. I still feel shaken from it because of how rude the kids were acting. They had even shoved one of the girls from their class down the slide before she was ready, and she came down sideways and almost flipped over backwards (again, while the teachers were just chatting!) This lady was another concerned parent who was trying to see where her child was too...
By that time, everyone including mommy and the grandparents were cranky and ready for naps, so we left. The kids are thankfully fast asleep upstairs while I post these pics. They are excited to decorate their pumpkins after naps today. Maybe I'll have some sanity back by then!
